Karlstad Student Union looks after the student's interests.
High Quality Education
One of our most important tasks is to work for a high quality education at Karlstad University. We are members of the Subject Council, the Faculty Board and the University Committee among others, to be able to present the students opinions.
We also dialogue with the local authorities, Student Accommodation (Studentbostäder), Swedish National Board of Student Aid (CSN) and others to improve your student situation in general. We are also members of SFS, a national association of student unions, where we work with student issues at a national level.
Give advice and support
Another important task of ours is to help you as a student if you have any problems during your studies. You can always turn to us for advice and to get help and support with anything concerning your studies or your student life in general. You might come into conflict with a professor about an exam, have complaints about course literature, feel discriminated or harassed, have problems with CSN, find yourself without accommodation or maybe wonder which insurance is best for you as a student.
Influence and change?
The union delegate stipulates, in Karlstad Student Union's opinion document, what kind of politics Karlstad Student Union shall pursue. If you disagree with an issue that the student union pursues, you have the possibility to influence/change it by writing a motion (suggestion) to the union delegate.
